2001 Lamborghini Diablo 6.0
The 2001 Diablo is a 2-door, 2-passenger sports car, available in one trim only, the 6.0. The 2001 Diablo's closest competitors include the Acura NSX, the Ferrari 360 Modena, and the Lotus Esprit V8. Upon introduction, the Diablo is equipped with a standard 6.0-liter, V12, 550-horsepower engine that achieves 10-mpg in the city and 13-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard.
Ford GT90
Technology, looks, and performance way ahead of it's time. The GT90 was a concept way back in the early 90's. The GT90 itself was only a concept at most, but it's ancestor, the GT40, it one of the most well known classic race cars.

The GT90's engine is two twin-turbo inline 6 engines fused together to form a hybrid V-12.
The four turbos in the GT90 heat the engine so much, it reaches temperatures of 1500 degrees F. The GT90 uses ceramic tile insulation, similar to what is used in the space shuttle, in the engine bay to keep the body from melting. The GT90 has a speed sensitive spoiler, and infrared sensors that can detect objects on either side of the car. Now that's advanced automotive technology.
Cadillac Cien
The aerodynamic Cien - Spanish for 100 - holistically illustrates Cadillac's signature 'art and science' philosophy, melding design and technology in a mid-engine, two-seat sports car.

Cadillac's 'art and science' design philosophy incorporates sharp, shear forms and crisp edges - a form vocabulary that expresses bold, high-technology design and invokes the technology used to design it.

"With the Cien, we've created the ultimate expression of 'art and science' using dynamic lines to achieve geometric forms similar to those of the Evoq, Imaj and concept vehicles that preceded it," said lead designer Simon Cox, executive director of GM's Advanced Design Studio for Cadillac in Birmingham, England.
McLaren F1
The philosophy behind the F1 road car was simple - to be the finest drivers car ever built, or ever likely to be built

McLaren Cars commissioned the BMW S70/2 engine, designed and built specifically for the F1. This 6.1 litre, quad-cam, 48-valve V12 power unit produces no less than 627 bhp and drives through a bespoke six-speed transaxle gearbox. Radical design features include:

- Ground-Plane Shear' suspension geometry
- intelligent brake cooling
- fan-assisted ground-effect aerodynamics

Long known for its luxury, limited-production sports cars, Aston Martin has a new flagship model in the U.S. market for 2002. Available in either two-passenger or form, the new V12 Vanquish went on sale in the United States in September 2001 and joins the existing DB7.
After selling 1,000 cars in 29 countries during 2000, Aston Martin anticipates a 50 percent sales increase for 2002, which will include 400 cars earmarked for the U.S. market. A total of 200 V12 Vanquish cars were sold worldwide during 2001, and 500 are accounted for in 2002, according to Aston Martin. Prospective buyers in the United Stares face an 18-month waiting list because the V12 Vanquish is sold out into 2003.

First seen in 2001 at the Geneva Motor Show, the British-built V12 Vanquish made its North American debut at the 2001 New York Auto Show. Focusing on advanced technology, the new model was developed with the cooperation and technical assistance of the Ford Research & Technology Group and Ford Research Laboratories. A drive-by-wire throttle system is used, and fingertip-activated, Formula One-style paddles deliver gear changes in less than 250 milliseconds.

2002 Lamborghini Murcielago
After 11 years of the Diablo, Lamborghini will replace the legendary bull, with a more tame yet still very fast supercar by the name of Murcielago. The name translates into bat from Spanish, the designers gave it this name because if you look at a frontal view of the car there's a slight resemblance to a bat, especially when the air intakes are open. The Murcielago will be the first car from Lamborghini since Audi took over. While the name is different, the look is very similar - despite the efforts of 3 different styling teams.

The engine is not radical either, borrowing much from the Diablo GT. Lamborghini has reworked its 6.0 litre V12 to stretch the rev range and improve its reponsivness. The Murcielago will have Lamborghini's first six-speed gearbox. Interior quality will take a giant leap forward, Audi has insisted that the new supercar meets its peerless standards.
